I love lipstick. I have a million. I have this internal fear that when I find one I love, it will inevitably be discontinued. (Thanks cosmetic companies.) It is honestly really smart of them because they know people like me with this ridiculous fear will buy back stock. It is probably the one piece of makeup I cannot live without. It makes me feel better to throw some lipstick on. Like listen darlin’, my life might be a hot Texas mess in that moment but with lipstick on I at least feel like I can take it on. That and bronzer… because the good Lord made this skin of mine pasty as can be. I need all the bronzer and self-tanner in the world to look a little less like a blonde Wednesday Adams.
With this lipstick obsession, I try them all. You name it, I have tried it. I understand the liquid lip craze, or even the want for your lipstick to be on for 12 hours… and I have some of those favs too… but for me, nothing beats a good ol’ stick of lipstick. I don’t care if I have to apply it a few times throughout the day. No matter what brand I try, my holy grail of all lipsticks will always be M.A.C. Their formula is where its at. I always get asked what lipstick I am wearing so I figured I would list my go-to look and some of my other favs. I ALWAYS wear liner too so they will be listed below.
Where my girls at who love a classic red lip??? *ME* I love my every day look because it goes with EVERYTHING but nothing makes me feel some sort of way like throwin’ on a LBD and a red lip. The best one I have found so far is Retro Matte Lipstick: Ruby Woo and the Liner goes by the same name.
(PS: The links will take you to the right type of lip product but the right color may not be selected. M.A.C. may be good at makeup, but their website leaves something to be desired!)
There you have it! As far as M.A.C. goes, these are my legit favs. I cant get enough of any of them. I also think that liner is a real must use. (Especially for red.) It prevents bleeding colors and I think just defines your lips more than throwin’ on some lipstick. BUT YOU DO YOU! Once I really started using liner, I’ll never go back. There are some brands like Lipstick Queen that do an invisible liner. I am not the biggest fan of it but it would save you money if you ended up liking it yourself.
If you could only have one piece of makeup for the rest of your life, what would it be??
