Y’all! I feel like July JUST started and now we are at the last day! I mean, don’t get me wrong; I am VERY ready to get 2020 over with but I feel like I blinked and the month was over. It wasn’t hard by any means to come up with my list of favs. Even though I am stuck in the house, I am still shopping just as much, if not more. Some things will just never change.
(If you missed it: Here are my June Favs!)
Haircare — Alterna Caviar CC Cream : I have used this product for longer than July. It has been one of my staples for about 10 years. Not even joking. There is something about the summer months that makes my hair drier and this product is the best ever. It is a leave-in hair treatment and styling cream. Meaning you can either put it in your hair while it is damp and style it, or your can do it dry for a finishing touch. You could do both. I always use it at the end and it is amazing. It’s 10 in 1 magic power provides moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, anti-breakage, heat protection, light hold, UV color protection, manageability, and strength-everything your hair needs to look absolutely beautiful, healthy, and flawless. Seriously. I will always have this in my beauty drawer. Bonus, it smells really good too.
Skincare — Shiseido Under Eye Masks: I am a SUCKER for face masks but for sure under eye masks. I think sometimes they are more a placebo effect. Do they work? I think they do. But honestly, even if it just makes you a little more relaxed and stress free, I think it is a win. Self-care baby. I ordered these from the mothership and I have been in love with them. I think they really do help my eyes look more vibrant and more awake. They relax me so much I use them at night too. Here are some fun Target ones that are more hydrating than anything. I don’t notice any other noticeable difference with them. But for a cheaper price it is nice to have! Tip: if you put them in the fridge a couple mentions before, it will help with any bags you might have. Or just wake you up some more in the morning!
Makeup — Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette : Again, I am giving you another life favorite instead of just July. It is another staple I will always have around. But before July I had really only been using the Vol II Palette, which is equally beautiful, just different looks. I had pulled the OG out for a more neutral look and forgot just how good it really is. So worth it. Here is the look I did the other day. Someone asked what shades I had used and where, so I tried to do a little tutorial picture.
Clothes — Masks : I figured if we have to wear masks everywhere, I am going ALL in. I want them cute and they are gonna match my outfits. I also want them to actually fit, which is harder than not. These Old Navy ones are BOMB. You get 5 to a pack and they have ADJUSTABLE ear loops. No trying to tie knots of your own or looping them up to buns. Nope. ADJUSTABLE. Plus, they have the cutest deigns. I love these tie dye ones. I also ordered these. They don’t look as durable as the Old Navy ones but the fabrics are too cute not to try. I will keep you updated!
Drink it up — Homemade Peach Tea: I absolutely love iced tea. Hello… I am a southerner. But I love flavored teas even more. But let me tell you, that crud you can buy in the store is not it! BLEH. It is summer and I crave peach tea like none other and sometimes ya just gotta make your own! I found the recipe here and love it! Their recipe calls for 2-3 peach slices, I like more peach flavor so I do four. You can also adjust the sugar to your liking and I just use the Lipton tea packets! Also, if you want to spike it, throw some vodka in it. *kisses the air* perfection!
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Water
4 sliced fresh peaches
3 Tea Bags
6 cups Water
Bring syrup ingredients to boil. Then reduce heat to medium.
Crush peach slices as you stir to dissolve sugar.
Turn off heat cover and let sit for 30 minutes.
Boil water and brew tea letting steep 5 minutes.
Remove tea bags and refrigerate.
Strain syrup through a fine strainer to remove fruit pieces.
Add syrup to tea and serve over ice.
I love putting my tea is cute pitchers. But I am a mega klutz. I found this ADORABLE acrylic pitcher on Amazon and it has a lid. Winning all over the place. If you are an adult and can actually not drop things, they have a really cute glass one too.
Something you never knew you needed — Shampoo Brush : You know when you are mindlessly shopping, whether alcohol induced or not, and you buy things but don’t remember. A couple days later, if on Prime, you get a package and think “huh… what did Ms Tito’s buy this time?” This was one of those instances. If you are the type to love the shampooing part of getting your hair done because of the scalp massage, YOU NEED THIS! It is the best scalp massage ever. Just trust me. And thank me and Ms Tito’s for bringing it to your life.
What am I playing — Animal Crossing : Along with the rest of the world. I jumped on this bandwagon a little later than most did but I am ADDICTED. Fun fact about me. I get really addicted to games and want to play them all the time. But then burn out eventually. However, with how Animal Crossing is always changing it keeps getting better. It is something different instead of the same thing over and over. The summer update is amazing. I am looking forward to the Sunday fireworks. And yes, I do know how nerdy that makes me sound. Do y’all play??
What’s on my shelf — Smuggler’s Cove : If you have been following along with our Disney Saturday’s you know that more often than not, they eventually turn into a Trader Sam’s drink-a-thon. Which is appropriate because that is where we end up in Disneyland more often than not. This book has more than 100 tiki recipes!!! It doesn’t just give you the recipe, but the origin and fun things about the drink. If you are a tiki fan, this is a must get. If not, it looks pretty cool in the bar.
Cheers to July! Aren’t y’all impressed I didn’t put ONE fall thing as my favorite?!?! Looking forward to August. And no, not because I MAY get away with one fall item… It is basically everyone is my family’s birthday including my husband and it is our wedding anniversary! Not that we can escape to San Francisco, we will still celebrate hard, per usual.
What was your favorite thing about July?
