    Must Have Fall Decoration Essentials

Happy fall, y’all! THIS IS MY SEASON!! I would also like to say that I have always been a fan of fall before it became a trend for “basic” girls. I don’t know if it is because I grew up in the south and by the time fall came around everything was dead from ridiculously high temps that we never had that “fall color” or because it is my birthday season but either way, I have loved it since I was little. My family always decorated for Halloween and then fall… buuuut other than dressing up, Halloween isn’t my jam. I like to decorate for fall as soon as humanly…

Modern Etiquette: Lesson 2 – Let’s Get Physical

I really seemed to throw the front door wide open with our first etiquette lesson. And maybe not even just the front door. All the doors. The back door. The garage door. Hell, even all the windows just wide open, airing out the truth that needs to be heard. If you missed it, check out Lesson 1 of Modern Etiquette. And ladies, please feel free to use it as a reply to any of those pictures you may receive in your future. I got you. While the first post was very, VERY guy focused, I figured our second lesson should encompass both sexes. As much as I’d like to think…

    Modern Etiquette: Lesson 1

Having grown up in the south, I am not a stranger to etiquette. In fact, I even had to participate in cotillion (a sort of finishing school). Those not from the south may find this hard to believe but this class was almost a right of passage that ladies AND gentlemen took. (At least, that’s what our parents told us.) If you are unaware of what this oh-so-dated education consists of, let me fill you in. At the prime age of 13, I was taught the ins and outs of “appropriate” behavior. The curriculum included things from how to properly pour tea and set a table to learning all ballroom…

Why I Keep Coming Back to Disney

I get the question a lot about why I go to Disney so much especially when I don’t have kids. The thing that non-Disney fans or people who haven’t been in a long time (or ever) don’t get is that every trip is different — and not because the parks are always changing. Every trip means something and all are special for their own reasons. The first time I came to Disney World, I was a child, wide-eyed and full of wonder. Imagination was not far from my grasp because I lived in that land every day. The characters and world I was immersed in was one that felt like…

    Why We Eloped

I guess I should start off by saying we didn’t really elope. The definition of eloping is “running away secretly in order to get married” and we were definitely not secretive about it. It was more a wedding that was just the two of us and no one else.  I know some people are shocked that we didn’t go with the big, over the top, party all night, fairytale wedding because honestly that is me and what I have always wanted. However, once we started planning it was causing me more stress than excitement. All my best friends and family lived 2000 miles away from me and couldn’t do normal…

    All About That Skincare Life

Skincare has always been a part of my life. I grew up in a southern house that made it very clear, eye cream was just as important as our nightly prayers. However, my knowledge and want for great skin eventually succumbed to the lethargic college years. You know– the never washing or even thinking about a moisturizer anymore because I am doing good to make it to my 8am class. There were many a morning I woke up with smeared mascara and what makeup I had left on my face… real classy. In the morning, I would “clean” my skin by running a cotton pad and toner over my face…

How to Stay Motivated to Workout

Hey Happy Hour Gang!!! In my journey of being healthy, the biggest blog requests I get are about what I eat and what exercise I do. My biggest tip I will tell everyone and anyone is just because something works for me, doesn’t mean it is going to work for you. A journey to living your best life is to find out what sprinkles your donut… or dresses your salad… ha, okay that is healthier. A workout I enjoy may be a nightmare for someone else. I figured the best way to help y’all is not to tell you WHAT I do to workout that works for me but…

    Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Review

Happy Tuesday, friends! Thank you for all the sweet words from last weeks more personal post. If you missed it, you can check it out here. Now back to our regularly scheduled posts of makeup and fashion! When I find a makeup product I love, I usually get in a little rut. It’s all I will wear without even looking for others that could possibly be better than what I am using. Why mess with a good thing, amiright? Luckily, a couple weeks ago I received Laura Mercier’s new Flawless Fusion foundation and concealer to try out. When I get PR packages or free products in the mail I always…

Fall Down Seven, Stand up Eight

Saturday night I went to see the new Cirque Du Soleil ice show, Crystal, with my friend Christina. It’s not the first time I have seen the stunt defying group and I’m sure it won’t be the last. It was far different than any of their other performances I have seen but nonetheless inspiring. It revolves around a young girl named Crystal and her struggle of not feeling like she fits anywhere. After an argument with her parents she races outside to skate her feelings away when suddenly the ice cracks and she falls into the water. There are many interpretations of what is happening to Crystal during this part.…

    Somebunny Loves You

Happy Easter, everyone!!!   I always say that fall is my favorite season until spring rolls around and I start to second guess myself. I am all for chilly, sunshine weather that you can be in with just a cardigan. After all, April does have the perfect date. (Anyone know what movie I am talking about?!) Not much to report except that I GRADUATED!!!!!!!!! I finally finished! (WHERE ARE MY CONFETTI CANNONS?!) I will save my thoughts on all that for a different post. Since taking my last final, I have been in a mix of celebrating and relaxation. Sleeping in has never felt so good. I really don’t think…
